First of all, I just want to "publicly" thank Patrick from Wichita for his lovely email! Turns out Patrick has been buying my yarns through Lynnell, and wants to credit me for the yarns of mine he uses in his freeform crochet work! WOW! So wonderful to hear that people like my yarns and use them!! Thanks, Patrick! This is "Moody," 93 yards of supersoft Merino spun thick n' thin. I purchased this roving through Handpainted Yarn. Nice stuff! It's a pretty blend of dark blues through to lighter blues.
"Royalty," 132 yards of 2-ply gorgeousness! 70% Merino/30% silk, painted in gorgeous royal blues, berry purples, emerald greens. This is one GORGEOUS skein of yarn!
This is "Napa," 85 yards of Falklands hand-dyed by Sheilah, who is one of my favorite fiber artists to buy roving from. She has a real gift for color, deep purples and greens and everything in between - reminds me of grapevines in the sun.

"Little Girl's Room," 86 yards of BFL hand-dyed by yours truly. I LOVED spinning this fiber up, and the blend of colors from sky blue to lavenders to pinks is gorgeous! I think BFL is probably my favorite fiber, I've dyed some more up, so you'll be seeing more of it in my yarns!

Long-needed yarn updates...

New yarns will be winging their way to Lynnell tomorrow. Here's a preview: "Boogie Nights" 77 yards of Romney that I spun from cute little rainbow batts, spun with light blue mohair locks. Not the softest yarn in the world because it's Romney, but a pretty yarn!
"Coastal", 91 yards of turquoise and pink yarn spun from fiber from Ashley. Soft and squishy domestic wool.
"Bibbidy-bobbidy-boo", 55 yards of Merino in 4 different, very complementary colors, spun with soft and very springy bright pink mohair locks. I named it in honor of my daughter, who is now a huge Cinderella fan, and considered keeping it for myself!
"Chocobrite", 72.5 yards of natural brown Shetland, spun with fuschia Merino, blue Corriedale, and blue and teal silk noil. I got the batts for this yarn from Ewenique Fiber (no matter how many times I see any play on words featuring "ewe" instead of "you", it doesn't get old. I'm lame like that!)

"I Go Day-glo", 70 yards of 2-ply eye-bleedingly bright squishiness spun from fiber from Amy. The name was suggested by my husband, supposedly the name of a Henry Rollins song (I'm more a fan of his spoken word than his music).

Ah...where do the photos go when Blogger says they've loaded to your page, but you come back and they're nowhere to be found. I will be back to blog again!

Lynnell at YarnRescue, in addition to being practically moments away from delivering her first baby, is organizing consigners for her site. So I'm going to be consigning more yarn with Lynnell! Buy yarn from her, either mine or her own, she's a total sweetie and her yarns are gorgeous! I sent a package out to her today, so it should be up soon! Check it out!

Bliss $22

This skein was absolute bliss to spin, hence it's name! It is 58 yards of super-soft and squishy Merino wool hand-dyed with delicate shades of blue and green. I left plenty of white in this skein to create a pale yarn that will blend beautifully with deeper shades. Ah, bliss! Please email me

Thunderhead $18

This is the COOLEST skein of yarn! This is fiber I got from Ashley at Neauveau, it's carded domestic wool. I just picked up a handful and started spinning! Ashley called this fiber Thunderhead, and I truthfully can't think of a better name, so Thunderhead it is! This is 63 yards of soft, super-slubby yarn in vibrant magenta, muted shades of green-grey, purples, greens, rusts, and gold-greens. It really does look like a very angry thundercloud! The picture makes it appear a bit brighter than it really is. Please email me to purchase, or if you'd like me to take a better picture!

Yay! I finally have wireless access for my laptop, so I can update my blogs and still keep an eye on Hurricane (aka the Crazed Toddler!) As soon as I figure it out, I'll get my new photos onto my laptop and then it's go time! I have a few more skeins of yarn to post, which I will try my best to do tomorrow...it looks like I'm not falling down in the woods with no one to hear me, I'm actually getting the occasional comment or email about my yarns, which is SO encouraging! I am spinning up some gorgeous pale pale green and blue merino that I hand-dyed and am so proud of! It's really beautiful, and I think I'm going to list it here instead of with Ashley or MY MY! And keep checking back, because a package of my handspun will be going out to both places by the end of the week! I'm hoping to have yarns for sale on both sites before 2 weeks are up!

A BEAUTIFUL skein of yarn! This yarn is a mix of wool, mohair, angora, silk, and a little angelina for glitz. It's a small skein, 50 yards of a nice, even single-ply, probably worsted weight. Here is another yarn up for sale. It is 100% kettle-dyed romney wool. It is 2-ply, spun very even, about a worsted weight. It is predominantly green with blue, pink, browns, rust, and purples mixed in. It's a very pretty yarn, and the romney is nice and shiny. It measures 135 yards, perfect for a hat or skinny scarf. Ok, so I've become SO obsessed with selling my handspun yarn (I swear, ever since Ashley at Neauveau told me that a) she was selling my yarns and 2) I'd impressed her - maybe she was just being kind, but let me dream - I have been doing spontaneous happy dances around my house!) that I decided to start a blog just for SELLING my handspun, so it's not clogging up my blog where I just TALK about my handspun, and my spinning friends, and my LOVE of fiber. I LOVE fiber! Let me tell you, I wish I'd known about all things fiber-y when I was in high school, before I decided to go to a liberal arts college for marine biology of all things, or when I was IN college and decided to switch my major to English (you want fries with that?) so I could slog around in low-paying, low-respect, glorified secretarial jobs for 3 years before being laid off from my last full-time job TWO MONTHS before my wedding...and then spend way too much time on unemployment and then even more time earning barely over minimum wage working at a bookstore before temping for years...before having my beautiful daughter and having my wonderful hubby let me stay home with her while we scrimp and live from paycheck to paycheck in a too-small rowhome with a screaming psycho of a neighbor on one side and a screaming mother of 4 pounding elephants (they're not children, they can't be, children don't make THAT much noise, not even FOUR of them!) on the other that make me want to pull my hair out on a regular basis - I wish I'd known that there were people called fiber artists BEFORE all that, so I could have at least ENJOYED what I was doing for the past several years while we lived from paycheck to paycheck!

Ok, sorry about that...man, this blogging thing is liberating! On to the yarns!
